Au temps retrouvé is a centuries-old house, located on a quaint, quiet street within the city walls and overlooking the Adriatic Sea. Less than 100 meters from the house a small gateway through the city wall will lead you down to the crystal clear sea and to the open air bar, Buza II, with the most beautiful view the city has to offer. A few steps further down a bathing area invites you to refresh yourself in the cool water, to go swimming or snorkelling.
The house has been lovingly renovated and merges tradition with modernity. The owners Maja and Carsten carefully preserved some charming features such as the exposed wooden beams and the stone fireplace to give the house its authentic touch. Au temps retrouvé suits a small group of friends or a small family looking to enjoy their stay in a cosy and charming place.
The house consists of 3 floors. Where pupils of a Jesuit monastery once lived; there is now enough room for 5 people to relax.
The
ground floor consists of a kitchen decorated in a rustic style and a dining room for 6.
The
1st floor holds a spacious one bedroom with double bed, wardrobe and a small bathroom with shower. There is a sitting area for those who would like to enjoy a quit time of reading, writing or meditating. It also has a sofa that can be used as extra bed for one person.
The
2nd floor has a second large bedroom, wardrobe with a double bed, a bathroom with shower. The 3rd room with double bed has not been completely renovated yet and is mostly used as a storage room.
The house has A/C in each room and there is wireless internet for the business traveller or for catching up with family back home. Several windows throughout the house allow the natural light to come in. Parquet floor and natural colored wood furniture gives the house a modern and fresh touch. The house offers a fantastic view over the roofs of the historic centre with their traditional, handmade, red roof tiles. When you look towards the old city wall, the orange and pomegranate trees in the neighbouring garden will wet your appetite for Mediterranean fruit and the delicious Dalmatian cuisine.
It seems that time has stopped while you stay at Au temps retrouvé and as its name suggests, you will appreciate to find back the “Old time” and enjoy the simple pleasures that Dubrovnik has to offer.
Worth knowingTo reach the apartment, you must walk up 110 outdoor steps. This means we would not recommend the property for people with walking difficulties. For those who can handle the stairs, Au temps retrouvé will provide an authentic experience.
